EARTHONE was presented at the Agricultural Chemistry Winter School in Bologna on 2 February 2026 by the team from DAFNAE, Department of Agronomy, Food, Natural Resources, Animals and Environment at the University of Padua. The project was introduced during the poster session, where it was positioned within current discussions on sustainable agricultural practices and land use management.

The poster attracted considerable attention, particularly in relation to the agroforestry system developed under the Italian Pilot. Discussions with participants focused on agroforestry as a practice that combines agricultural production with environmental stewardship and social value. It was noted that such systems can support farm productivity while contributing to soil protection, biodiversity, and long-term land resilience.

Exchanges during the session also addressed the wider role of agroforestry in sustainable agriculture. Beyond crop and livestock production, agroforestry was discussed in terms of soil structure improvement, carbon sequestration, reduced erosion, and risk mitigation for farmers. Participants also referred to its contribution to landscape quality, wildlife habitats, and more balanced nutrient management, including animal waste. These aspects were considered relevant in the context of both environmental policy and practical farming decisions.
